ok, you are trying to use th update thing in the install form. you are not supposed to do that,

here is the procedure to update.

If you have no MODs installed or don't care about them.
1.download the changed files only package and unzip it to your computer.

2. backup your config.php file from your server to your computer.

3. unzip the package to your computer.

4. read the instructions that are in the docs folder

5. pick the zip file that relates to what your version is

6. unzip it to your computer

7. upload the contents of that file, all folders and files to their proper place on the server.

8. upload the install folder from the main zip file to your phpbb folder

9. go to yourdomain.com/yourphpbb/install/update_to_lates.php in your browser.

10. delete the install folder

11., have a beer , you just upgraded.
