[問題] setup completed but could not access admin page

my setup enviroment is
mysql -3.23 + apache 1.3 + php 4.0 + redhat 7.1

after setup phpbb2 the first page is displayed correcttly(and others e.g.FAQ page), but
1, i could not sign on as admin , after input admin and password, IE will display "this page could not be displayed"

after i click "remember password" for admin account, then i could sign on as admin to browsing the BB2

2, and when i click the admin function at bottom of BB2 web page, the IE will also display 'this page could not displayed"

redhat 7.1 - I never use that before. Don't know if I will be of help.

the root cause is DNS settting,

because i am using VMWARE to create a virtual machine for testing , so i need to create a DNS entry in the client PC hosts file to point to the PHPBB2 server ('s IP address), after i do that , everything is OK....
